The opportunity

While ostensibly based at Wimbledon College of Arts you will be required to have flexibility to support the delivery of academic learning activities within our lecture theatres, seminar spaces and studios, working across our four sites to ensure operational delivery as required.

This is a full time site-based role which may on occasion involve some flexible working to support after-hours events.

You’ll provide responsive on-demand in-person and remote assistance to staff, supporting them in their use of AV hardware and software for teaching, remote learning, lecture capture and live streaming.

About you

With relevant qualifications to BA level in Art, Design or Performance and/ or equivalent industry experience and certification (Avixa CTS), you’ll have significant Audio-Visual support experience in a higher education or enterprise environment.

You’ll have gained knowledge of integrated audio visual solutions and related software and will be looking to develop your skills in sharing this knowledge in supporting colleagues. You’ll have a strong working knowledge of common switching, distribution and audio products - preferably Extron and AMX. Extron programming experience is highly desirable.

Able to install and operate a wide range of AV equipment including IT, projection, presentation, camera and audio equipment you’ll have a resourceful and considered approach to problem solving.

You’ll be able to carry out regular preventative measures such as routine maintenance, testing and servicing tasks, some of which involve working at height.

With a proactive approach to asset and consumables management, you’ll be capable of fault-diagnosis, maintenance, testing & repair as appropriate.

You are approachable with good communication skills and even when working under pressure, you’re able to give clear and accurate information to ensure a high level of service delivery.

You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of working in a busy customer/ client facing role, where you provided technical support for AV hardware and software.

You’re a motivated, reliable and punctual individual who is able to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team and independently.
