The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to play key role supporting the preparation of high-quality research funding applications to meet our strategic ambitions to increase and diversify our research activity. 

Working with researchers across our Colleges and Institutes, you will coordinate and contribute to the grant writing process, producing content that communicates our research in a clear and accessible way, demonstrating the value of the proposed research to key funding bodies, such as UKRI and the Research Councils.

This will include developing draft content, conducting literature reviews, and documenting activities such as sandpits and workshops. You will also manage the collaborative writing process across multiple contributors, reviewing, collating and editing content to ensure clear communication of the proposal with a consistency of style and voice.

About you

Your profile will include:

  • You will hold a higher-level qualification, including, but not limited to, a degree, or have equivalent experience in a relevant field / or industry. 
  • You will have experience of writing applications for external funding, including, but not limited to, foundations and charitable bodies, local government, as well as experience of working with a range of stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience in the Higher Education sector is desirable but not essential.
