The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EDI Data Officer with data management experience to join the Equality, Diversity  and Inclusion Team.

The successful candidate will contribute to and lead on staff related EDI initiatives, projects and policy work.  The EDI data Officer will be responsible for helping to deliver and maintain the University EDI agenda with particular accountability for sourcing out and analysing data to support the university’s applications for the Race Equality Charter, other external accreditations, EDI Annual Report and Equality Impact Assessments. 

As a Team we develop and influence strategy and policy, and provide high quality information, advice and guidance on all staff and students equality, diversity, and inclusion matters. The team works closely with our diversity champions and Executive Board for Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) who represents both academic and professional service staff. You will be instrumental in embedding equality, diversity and inclusion across the University and to achieving our EDI Strategy.

About you

Your profile will include:

  • Experience working in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), covering a range of different equality areas and topics.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience of statistical analysis and reporting.
  • A good understanding of how the Equality Act 2010 works in practice.
  • Experience of extracting and cleansing data, and generating reports from different university systems.
  • Experience of undertaking data validation, and data reconciliation in line with external guidance and deadlines.
