The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an academic support Librarian at High Holborn working under the CCW library management team for Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon and High Holborn. This is a full-time role at grade 4 in our brand new library hub which opens in September.
As a member of the Library Services team you will contribute to the development of high quality and student-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University.
You will have responsibility for daily operational running at High Holborn Library, which includes overseeing local frontline services and team, reporting to CCW management team.
You will support specified courses/programmes of study, participating in course committees. You will establish constructive working relationships with course teams, and promote access to resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison.
You will assist in the provision of enquiry services and develop learning materials which encourage the use of resources and services.
You will line manage a small team and be responsible for providing professional leadership for the function of the High Holborn hub.
The role, is based at high Holborn working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day. Normal working hours will be between 9am-6.30pm with shifts scheduled to open at 9 or close at 6.30pm at least once per week.
There is some limited opportunity for working from home in this role, dependent on operational needs.
About you
We are looking for someone with a degree qualification or equivalent. and relevant experience in library or other education or information roles.
You will have demonstrable experience of working in a library or customer service environment and the ability to motivate a team and to work independently without direct supervision. You will be a good communicator with excellent written, presentation and liaison skills. You must demonstrate the ability to teach information skills. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft office with good IT skills.
